Before Starting
It is important to make sure the surface you are applying your decal to is clean and residue free. Also you can use a credit card or something similar to press the decal onto the surface while it is still covered by the backing. Be very gentle whenever you are rubbing the decal with any object.
Step 1
Here is our sample. This picture is of how you will receive your sticker in the mail. When you take it out of the envelope this is what it should look like. The top layer, which is transparent, is called the Transfer Tape. The next layer is the actual sticker which is the Vinyl Sticker, and the final layer is the Backing. |
Step 2
You need to pull off the transfer tape so that the vinyl sticker stays stuck to the transfer tape. If the vinyl sticker tries to stay on the backing use your finger to push on transfer tape back onto the sticker and backing to try to get a better bond between the transfer tape and the sticker. |
Step 3
Keep pulling. As you pull it off you will get the hang of it. |
Step 4
Should be all the way off now. Once it is place the backing off to the side, it is now garbage. |
Step 6
Now you are ready to place the sticker in its final resting place. Be careful as toy are positioning it because once it is stuck it is stuck. It will not come off without damaging the sticker. |
Step 7
Now when you know where you want to put it you need to start with one of the edges. Stick it on little by little. make sure that you push all of the air out of the sticker as you put it down. The next picture shows how you flatten the sticker.
Step 8
As you stick more of it on push hard to flatten the parts that are already stuck. |
Step 9
Once the entire sticker is stuck push hard everywhere on the sticker. This is to make sure when you remove the transfer tape the sticker remains stuck. |
Step 10
Once you have flattened everything out pretty good you are ready to remove the transfer tape. Start by lifting a small corner of the tape. |
Step 11
When you pull the transfer tape off pull it at a very tight angle to the surface, almost parallel to it. See the illustrations below for more info. |
Step 12
Almost done. Once the transfer tape is no longer on the actual sticker just pull it off and throw it away. |
Step 13
I know this picture is a little blurry but you get the idea. I have a small roller that I use to flatten the sticker. You can use anything that is not going to scratch the surface or the sticker. This is just to make sure that the sticker gets the best bond to the surface that it can get. |
Step 14
And you are done. Now all you have to do is enjoy your sign. |
